Fishing on Lake Bonaparte Postcard

Lake Bonaparte’s rocky islands and mid-lake shoals offered “sports” reliable smallmouth bass fishing, while the largemouth variety were plentiful along weedlines and openings in weedbeds.  Formerly called Lake Diana and Bona’s Lake, the body of water actually got its name from Joseph Bonaparte, former King of Spain and brother of Napolean.
